Access College Appreciation Luncheon

| , , ,

Every high schooler has to ask themselves an important question, “Am I going to go to college?” But that’s not the only worry, the next question is, “how am I going to pay for college?”

The ACCESS College Foundation helps thousands of students go to college. Counselors are put in schools throughout Hampton Roads to help students apply to college and help fill out FAFSA forms and provide moral support during a process that can be very hard.

At ACCESS College Foundation’s Annual Luncheon at the Marriott in downtown Norfolk, they thanked the donors who have helped the thousands of students in the area attend college. Donors heard speeches from students and parents of students who benefitted from their donations and the Jpixx crew caught it all on camera. Keep scrollin’ below to get a first-hand view of our day with ACCESS College Foundation.

ODU student Christelle Hollomon gave an emotional speech about how much she appreciated the ACCESS College Foundation and shared her story. Her family was going through a rough time financially and then the unthinkable happened…her father passed away. Without the ACCESS College Foundation, she wouldn’t have received a full scholarship to college. There were lots of teary eyes in the room and she received a standing ovation for her speech.

Kimberly Adams was another speaker who delivered a speech about how the ACCESS College Foundation helped her son Israel go to college. She could not afford to send him to school because of their financial situation but ACCESS College Foundation found a way.

For every dollar that is invested ACCESS converts that dollar into $20. That’s a huge return on investment!
