Winner announced for Jpixx Emerging Arist Online Poll!!!

A quick Recap in case you missed out …

Jpixx films the SeaLevel Singer/Songwriter Festival for Tidewater Arts Outreach every year. In the Emerging Artist Contest, unsigned local musicians compete to perform acoustically at the Annual Sea Level Singer/Songwriter Festival – with this year’s winner opening for the headline act at the Attucks Theater.

The judges this year included well-respected and industry professionals Brenda Barkley, Narissa Bond, Hunter Hughes and Paul Shugrue. On March 17th, in front of a sold out performance at the Victorian Station in Hampton, VA –  they selected Luke Willette as the 2017 Emerging Artist Winner (Luke won a free promo video via Jpixx as well as studio recording time from Soniqual and a Paul Reed Smith Guitar for taking home the top prize).

But as we’ve done for several years, the fine folks at Jpixx thought it would be fun to see who would come out on top if we let the public decide. So we posted a performance of each contestant on our website and held a free online poll. The incentive? The winner would receive a FREE MUSIC VIDEO – compliments of Jpixx (that’s a $3K value!!). While voting for their favorite artists, viewers could also see all the great action that was happening throughout the Sea Level Fest through a compilation of photos and videos we had put together. (Did we mention that Jpixx sponsors the Sea Level Festival every year 🙂

So before we announce the ONLINE winner … let’s throw it back to last year for a sec shall we?

EMILY GAINES

Emily Gaines comes from a gifted musical family. She has been singing since she could talk. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when she lost her father and brother before she graduated high school and endured relentless bullying. Her self-imposed isolation as a result, bred creativity. It was in that space her songwriting helped her triumph over her obstacles.

Keep your eyes peeled for her Jpixx-produced music video! But for now..catch one of her performances at the 2017 Emerging Artist Contest 🙂
