During 2014, we had a chance to shoot a video surrounding Pharrell Williams Day. With more than half a million views and an appearance on Access Hollywood, it’s one of our proudest works yet.
It was an amazing opportunity this past June to meet with Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams!
Jpixx was asked by the Virginia Beach School District to document the homecoming of singer-songwriter Pharrell to his alma mater, Princess Anne High School, on June 7th in preparation for ShaggFest. Pharrell spoke about his nonprofit, From One Hand To AnOTHER, which inspires children to reach for success in following their dreams. The mayor presented Pharrell with a key to the city and Delegate Ron Villanueva declared June 7, 2014 to be Pharrell Williams Day in the state of Virginia. Read more about the event here.
Fourth and fifth grade students were invited to attend a closed off event on June 7th at Park Way Elementary. The students were surprised to meet with Pharrell in groups of five to present their From One Hand To AnOTHER STEM projects.
Pharrell was extremely pleasant, took a lot of time with everyone, and was always happy to take photos with anyone who asked.
It was very humbling to see him interact with a group of quiet kids; cracking jokes and giving motivational words. As the event wound down, he was going around personally thanking everyone, from parents to camera crew and reporters, for attending.
