It’s been two years since Jpixx has released a film. (Several are still in post-production) In late 2015, they made a comeback with an original 15-minute short film, “Leave Me Together” created as part of the Filmily Fest.
Shot and produced in the Hampton Roads area, Leave Me Together is focuses on a troubled introvert named Max who’s life is shattered in pieces when he loses his meds and beloved dog in the same day.
The short film was apart of Filmily Fest. Short for film family, Filmily Fest sought to bring out the best talent in the Hampton Roads area to participate in a friendly competition and allow local artists to network with one another.
Teams had 2 weeks to write, shoot and edit a film based off of 5 inspiration photos. Each team received peer reviews on their script and film that detailed how improve the story. Additionally, the teams were judged on 13 different categories; Tone, Obstacle, Character, Visual Element, The Unexpected, Relationship, Writing, Editing, Cinematography, Best Actor, best Actress, Peer Review and Best Director.
Leave Me Together took home the awards for best Peer Review and Best Use of Obstacle.
