Jpixx shot a “Meet the Chef” series earlier this year for Visit Virginia Beach where we interviewed the chef’s of local establishments about what makes their restaurant one of a kind. We learned that all the restaurants rely heavily on local resources like farms within 100 miles and the Chesapeake Bay. It is those very resources that inspire the dishes that represent Virginia Beach flavor too!
Located in the Creative District in Virginia Beach, Commune provides fresh and healthy food locally sourced from trusted farmers in the area. Not only do they outsource produce- they have their own herb-garden in the back. The gang tasted fresh herbs straight from the earth and some of the tasty dishes you will see below. How bout that for job perks?!

PLEASURE HOUSE OYSTERS
This shoot for Virginia Tourism was definitely interesting. Nothing like getting on a boat to shoot and having the opportunity to eat fresh raw oysters straight from the ocean. We interviewed Chris Ludford, owner of Pleasure House Oysters about his business and created several fun segments, including this one called “The 7 Steps to Eating an Oyster.”
These Virginia Tourism shoots alongside BCF has taken Jpixx on one heck of a rollercoaster ride. Stay tuned for more to come – and keep up with all of Virginia Beach’s best eateries and recipes on the city’s instagram account.
