Harborfest

Project

Norfolk Festevents’ event, Harborfest, needed dynamic video coverage to highlight its largest and longest-running festival.

What we did

  • With a detailed plan for each day, we disseminated a team of videographers across the festival grounds to capture interviews, photos, and video.
  • Our on-the-ground shooting style allows us to connect with event staff, vendors, and attendees to gather genuine interviews.

The Jpixx Factor

We provided an on-site editor to edit and deliver the video recap by the final day of the three-day event.

Follow Up

  • Due to the quick video delivery, event goers were able to view and instantly share across social media, providing a much wider reach.
  • We provided our client, Festevents, with footage, photos, and videos to use for promotions throughout the year.
  • Festevents gained multiple international awards for our video coverage of this event.

Make the Call (VDH) OEMS

Project

The Virginia Department of Health wanted to communicate and increase awareness about the sensitive issue of growing suicide rates among first responders.

What We Did

  • Jpixx presented VDH with three concepts; the notion of “Strength Requires Maintenance” was chosen for the project.
  • The goal was to make the connection that individuals require their own types of preventative maintenance just as much as the life-saving equipment they use.

The Jpixx Factor

  • We used actual first responders in our video to build more connection, realism, and interest around the video within the local community.
  • Jpixx went above and beyond and developed a rain machine to visualize the metaphor that machinery works through the elements.

Follow Up

  • The video was disseminated to thousands of first responders and their communities, which invited a broader discussion about stigmas on mental health. This provided a chance for first responders, their families, and their friends to build support systems that may have not existed otherwise.
  • Jpixx received a Telly Award for the work done on this piece.

Food Bank Commercial

Project

  • For Foodbank’s 40th Anniversary, the PR firm, KBD Group, needed a one-minute commercial highlighting their client’s longstanding commitment to ending hunger.
  • They wanted to provide perspective on the Foodbank’s daily efforts and its importance to local communities, while also highlighting the many contributing members from diverse backgrounds that are instrumental to its mission.

What We Did

To showcase the strength in numbers that have made the organization successful over the last 40 years, we filmed numerous workers and volunteers narrating multiple lines of dialogue to be stitched together in the edit.

The Jpixx Factor

Our experienced staff created a comfortable environment, capturing candid delivery from individuals, many of whom had never spoken on camera before.

Follow Up

  • The video was aired on TV stations and in various markets, spreading the message that Foodbank has 40 years of being a successful, necessary organization worthy of continuous community support.
  • The entire organization felt pride in seeing their accomplishments highlighted and their fellow volunteers and staff championed by their community members.
